Ødipus REC- LIVESTREAM

Ødipus REC. is a contemporary music theatre about the obvious. Parts of western society driven by economic interests increase visibility into an "overexposure", we increasingly experience the mediatisation of our living world as a (dis)blinding. The inflationary imagery thereby obscures the underlying processes, the algorithms have long been part of our communication and sit as an invisible guest at our bedsides. Ødipus REC. examines how difficult it becomes under these conditions to see oneself and to recognise each other.

The new composition by Ole Hübner goes to technical, sonic and structural extremes and explores the transitions in between. The music was created in close collaboration with Ensemble Lemniscate from Basel.

The production premiered at Theater Gare Du Nord Basel in January 2019 and was shown at Tojo Theater Bern shortly before the Corona Crisis.
