ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:

Sex is omnipresent in the media, but honest conversations about how we desire and what we experience emotionally during sex rarely happen. Few can name what goes on inside them when they have sex. Conversation artists Anna Papst and Mats Staub set out to find people who nevertheless try. In the course of their lives, they all had to or wanted to learn sexuality in a new and conscious way. Their touching and profound stories are presented linguistically condensed and newly recorded. In the wine bar at STÜH33, the audience can expect a collective and at the same time intimate listening experience. Visitors will be served drinks and headphones. Everyone can put together an auditory 4-course menu from a variety of voices and narratives according to their own taste: Would you rather listen to the pensioner who didn't enjoy sex during 25 years of marriage and now lives a 'decently debauched' life? Or the gay young man who rediscovers physical love after eight years of abstinence?

Anna Papst and Mats Staub both work interview-based and across genres between theater, exhibition and literature. Intimate Revolution is their first collective long-term project - the collection of stories will continue to grow through numerous stations after its premiere at the Ruhrtriennale.

A production by zwischen_produktionen. Co-produced with Ruhrtriennale, Zürcher Theaterspektakel, Kaserne Basel, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm.
